Luis Gutierrez Handcuffed And Forced Out Of ICE Office! See What Happened
On Monday, after refusing to leave an office in Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Chicago, the police had nothing to do but to handcuffed Rep. Luis Gutierrez and eject him.
Rivlin said, “The congressman has decided that he did not get the answers he was looking for from the ICE regional director and he’s going to be staying inside until he gets answers, even if that means risking arrest.”
After he was released, Gutierrez took Twitter to write that he didn’t know if he was going to be formally arrested over the incident at the office. He wrote, “I was arrested, cuffed then cuffs were cut off. Waiting for further word on if/when we will be arrested.”
According to NBC, seven more people who were part of the meeting also refused to leave the office.
Earlier, Gutierrez has been arrested for protesting. In 2011, he was taken to custody
because he was protesting in front of the White House, against deportations by Obama administration.
